The city of Agra is home to one of the seven wonders of the world – the magnificent Taj Mahal. It captivates over four million tourists each year and has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site.

However, due to the grand allure of the Taj, Agra and its people are generally overlooked, resulting in a severe lack of development and streets stricken with poverty…

I wanted to capture what so many people miss while looking in the other direction – the diversity and charm of the people behind Agra.

Working as a freelance photographer/producer based in Edinburgh, Scotland, I’ve been fortunate enough to work on projects situated in all corners of the globe from refugee camps around Europe to Singapore slums and Moroccan markets. This has allowed me to capture a real diversity of people, places and cultures. I love to focus on individuals and photograph details and character in my portraits. One of my more recent trips was to India. This is where I encountered the city of Agra, and its people for the first time…
